I’VE heard this cliché a number of times before. Yet today I still see many managers straddling in the so-called gray area between right and wrong. Incidentally, if you haven’t noticed it yet, the gray areas in most everything we deal with today are getting bigger and bigger, and grayer and grayer, than before.

Honesty is still the best policy, but it seems there are less and less policyholders these days. You’ve seen it before and you will see it again and again. People at all levels in the organization are put to test everyday—whether they are in top management, purchasing, human resources, government, the courts, and everywhere else. There is always a nagging question of right or wrong, ethical or unethical.
